"He was the wildlife conservationist with great interest in cheetahs, who managed to save Marita on that fateful day, August 31st, 1995, which would later be declared National Asiatic Cheetah Day in Iran," Dr. George Schaller.

"I remember him as being passionate about protecting these cats and conflicted about his role in the overall wellbeing of the planet, but he chose to stay where he was during the time I knew him, because that's where he felt he could do the most good for the cats,"   Carole Baskin, Big Cat Rescue.
